I received an email recently as follows.
I'm currently contacting all classic vehicle forums to let you all know about my website which is called www.stolenclassics.co.uk
I started this website last year after the theft of a friends Triumph Vitesse. To cut a long story short, if it wasn't for the internet, he wouldn't have got the car back.
How does the site work? When someone posts up about their pride & joy, the website will automatically e-mail every registered member in it's database letting them know that unfortunately a vehicle has been stolen. It will automatically update the Stolen Classics Facebook page.
The site has been in a few classic car magazines and has had alot of positive comments, but for it to be a success it needs more members. Registration is absolutely FREE.
It wasn't something that I enjoyed having to do, but the way I see it, it was down to likeminded enthusiasts like you and me that my friends Triumph was returned. If there are more of us keeping an eye out, it can only be a good thing, as the classic vehicle theft problem shows no sign of ending.
I would be very grateful if your members would join and help to spread the word.
Many thanks for taking the time to read this e-mail.
It seems to me like a good idea, so why not check it out. :D
