Ok I thought this problem had gone away. But can aomeone explain to me, 1 turn of the rear wheel results in 2.25 turns of the propshaft. Now I thought this was the ratio> Or is it that someone cant count!!!
I think you need to multiply by 2 and that what you have is 4.5 to 1.
The pinion in the diff connected to the propshaft is the small one so it has gone round 2.25 times to produce one revolution of the wheel.
I imagine you have the other rear wheel stationary. So as the crownwheel in the diff moves at the average of the two rearwheels it has only gone round half a turn so to get the extra turn you need to either go twice round with your wheel, or have both wheels free and turn the two together as they would on the road.
If memory serves me right there is a 4.54 diff in the 948.
