the b series is a very straight forward swap the bits you need coming from the Mk2 oxford which had the b series as standard as apparently the engine bay and tunnel were the same between the 2 cars.. from what i recall.

Unfortunately not as straight forward as that Charlie ...
If you wanted to keep the column gear change, you would need to have a bell housing made to mate up with the b series..

As you can see in the photo, the side valve engine has the bell housing moulded in to the cast iron engine block,
The J box that's fitted is very flat...

Now, here's where the plot thickens...
It has been done, the 1800 b series fitted using a bell housing from the Hindustan 14...
But good luck on getting one of them now, you've probably got more chance of winning the lottery...

A complete drive train swap would be possible , eg, engine and box from an mgb, but you'd lose the column change,
A new tunnel cover would need to be fabricated and possibly the front bench seat would need to go.....

Or maybe you can keep the column change using any B series engine mated to the later column change box from a 1954 to 1958 Morris Oxford or Austin Cambridge. The A55 Cambridge VAN lasted until about 1970, I think with column change. My 1955 Austin Cambridge has the original column change box and a later A60 B series of 1622cc.
