Bump Stops

Postby Big Jim » Sat May 28, 2016 5:54 am

Hello All
My car had been fitted with shocks at the front . I have taken them off as the fitting arrangement was rubbish . I will rely on the dampers . The bump stops have been removed and a repair patch welded in . I think I can figure out where they were fitted , but in the manual there is a modified position , moving the rear bolt 3/4" outwards . What is this for ?

PS
is there a photo anywhere of the bump stop in place as the repair to mine has changed the shape under the wing ?
Thanks

Just position the stop where it will be squarely contacted by the top of the kingpin! Move the suspension up to find where that is. If using the original dampers (good idea) you need to be sure the valves are in there (some foolishly remove them when fitting crappy tele dampers) and fill with SAE40 oil.
