Much obliged Muck
I'll. Be super careful and will be leaving the wheels on. My plan is to raise the car a few inches at a time and put the ramps under the 2 near side wheels. If I need more, I'll add scaffold planks under the ramps and my old favourite trick, stack old wheels up under the car as a belt and braces.

I'll have a good study of all the images you sent as well as all of G's and plenty more besides. There is no rush so I'll take my time and make a fine job.

Well, obviously to do it properly I've got to make room, take a look and make of it what you will. I didn't realize that the kidney panel actually touches the flitch.
Plenty to do here. Maude may be off the road this year. All depends on available time.

Chortle, no danger of that :D
It's a bit of fun, I'll get her sorted. The diagrams on various websites show how it goes together properly.
I think I'm gunna buy some panels and make others.
No rush, Kermit is there for my minor driving fix when required.

For the good people that have just joined us, this is Roy's old car HDM113C

Work is restarting now but I'm still in no rush, I've taken stock of the job and with the other threads on this forum as my guide, I'm confident I know what I'm doing. I want to stress that Roy had never claimed HDM to be anything other than she is. He was honest about the condition and told me long ago before my mate Phil bought it that the car needed work. He even supplied some of the panels that I will use FOC in recent times. Thus, I'm simply carrying on where the great man left off.

As usual, the more one digs, the more one finds of course, isn't it always the way
I need to replace part of the outer floor, the lower sill, flitch, Boxing plate and so on.

Looking forward to getting stuck in (Slowly) as it's a long time since I did any serious bodywork.

A few pics of the current condition for the history file.

Preparation for the work continues with the ousting of the fuel tank as a safety measure. This was easy apart from the king fuel tank union. In the end I cut the fuel pipe. The floor in this area looks pretty good. However, there was an area of creamy brown on the inner arch in the vicinity of the spring hanger. The floor at the very rear near the wood sounds crunchy so that will have to be inspected as well.

I've got panels arriving for the front end works tomorrow and have stocked up on welding consumables.

Work has begun, she's up in the air and I've had the grinder out, at some stage I'll probably be replacing the main crossmember so this time I'm going to replace only what is required of the undersill , floor edge and boxing plate.
the first 8 inches should suffice. Inner sill is fine

She won't fall off this set-up but if anything happened there is plenty back-up.

I think I have the back mat for the traveller and wheel arch covers.
Will have a hunt sometime in the garage, might have a couple of the chrome trims as well.

Nice one buddy, do let me know. I've sort of got a plan for the interior, all, depends on how it develops and comes together. I will be going non-standard for sure.

Here's the rub

Plenty to do aside from welding so 2 hours with copper swarf and bleach tonight and one side is about half done. Well, done in the respect of removal of many years and layers of teak oil. It will obviously need a preservative and a finish but that's for much later.

The bleach is a great lubricant and obviously deals with any organic material present in the grain at the same time.

It was all as dark as the vertical section between wheelarch and waist rail.

Thanks H,like it, simple and unfussy.
I'm thinking of extreme simplicity so that will probably involve rear seats out as well and a flat bed right thru. I'll never want to take any passengers anyway.
Got other ideas as well, some rather zany ones :D
