couldn't resist. I was planning a couple of journeys and ended up playing with toy cars.

Went to see the poppies at the Tower of London on Tuesday.

Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red has been created by ceramic artist Paul Cummins, with setting by stage designer Tom Piper, 888,246 ceramic poppies have been progressively filling the Tower’s famous moat.

I have bought a poppy to be added to the display. It'll be sent to me after they are removed in November.

Most photographs show the moat full of blood red poppies. I found this wave very interesting.

Been over to visit Flanders' Fields in Belgium. Came across this next to a farm near the French border. :shock:

On Thursday and Friday I visited some of the Commonwealth War Graves around Flanders.

DSC_1164a.jpg

This photo is from Lijssenthoek, a WW1 casualty clearing station (CCS). It holds 10,784 graves.

Other cemeteries I visited on Friday included:
Tyne Cot ~ 11,956 graves;
Menin Road South ~ 1,538 and
Hooge Crater ~ 2,345.

Some say the current 'celebrations' are glorifying war, I disagree. We are honouring the fallen.
