Spoke to soon got new rcb today wired it up and it still trips when using welder.
Must be something to do with consumer unit in garage.
Will get an electrician at some point but meantime will just use extension to outside socket.
Hear, hear, me the same. You're normally wearing gloves and boots anyway while welding, and the trigger handle is insulated plastic, so the risk of a shock is pretty minimal with reasonably well-maintained equipment.
My welder does have a 13 amp fuse in the plug but it still tripped the breaker. My electrician said that the B type was to weak and a D type was required. Hope your not still using old ceramic fuses bmc
