Bahaha, I was keeping that a secret? The seats are out of a Vauxhall vectra Sri I chose them because my last 3 cars were vectra Sri and I found the seats really comfy and hold you in when your up on 2 wheels??

Well here's another first for me. I was asked if I could use my Morris as a wedding car today. So I was going glad to help out the wedding was in Stirling, and it was a success bit of a tight squeeze to get into the back seat but everything went well. Here's a couple of photos

A wee update. so I've been busy working on new gearbox Mazda rx8 6 speed to fit onto my st170. So I bought an adapter plate for the engine. Thanks to rv8 for offering up his engine and Morris as a donor car so I didn't have to strip mine. So I bought an adapter plate an tipical the holes didn't line up?
After a little cursing we decided to weld up and redrill. Finally after 4 hours later plate was on and gearbox fitted we tried it into Scotts car. And low n behold the plate hits both sides of the tunnel. A little trimming needed but it's in. The box is the same length as a type 9 the gear leaver is in the same place so the tunnel doesn't have to be altered and the propshaft fits as well. The only issue is the oil seal at gearbox side will have to be changed or I change the prop to rx8 one!

Hi Stevie, did you manage to use the same gearbox crossmember as your Type9?

Hi Stevie, very interested in the RX8 conversion as I have also bought an RX8 box, plus conversion plate RX8 to 2.0XE Vauxhall. I was going to use the RX8 prop but believe they are carbon fibre and was wondering about using a type 9 prop with a modified rear seal on the box, so would be very interested to learn which option/solution you opt for.

Best regards,

Kev

Hi kev
Yes the rx8 prop is carbon but if I can't get a seal to fit the type 9 prop I'll probably swap the ends over or get a new prop made to suit. There's a propshaft company just up the road from me so I'll ask about seal first

Hello Steve, Just wondering what you make of the 4 bar link suspension you fitted?
As I'm preparing the shell I was thinking of leaving off the rear spring mounts and fitting the same set up as yours, I'm not able to afford someone else to do it so it would have to be a DIY.
It looks likes your bars were all the same length, would you bother buying that kit again if you were doing it or fabricate your own?
What was involved in 'setting up' the suspension?
Cheers for now.

It's a brilliant conversion should've done it when I built the car. The car is more planted on the road now no more rattling from the springs? As for setting up lazer line, string line and a level lots of tea and cakes :)
