Was not sure if I should have put this in the "Moggy Spotting" thread?
I was told about some American cars on the prom at tea time so went to have a look, got there as they were finishing, turns out there is a group of Americans and Hot Rods started meeting on the third Thursday of the month.
This nice Minor Van was just squeezed on the edge of the forecourt.
Steel Flip Front
Made from original wings and bonnet, you can see the mounting flange on the O/S wing.
Suitable power plant
Deseamed rear body with slots for side exhausts
The owner did not seem to be near it so I do not know where it was from.
Here's a picture of my Brother in laws car that got me so interested in Minors. I hung around with him an awful lot as he built bikes and this car, He bought it as a standard Minor in the late 70's and this was petty much its finail incarnation before it was sold some time in the 90's - nothing fancy by todays standards with marina discs, mgb 1800 angine and box and tele's all round - I loved it. I've looked on the DVLA site and it doesn't appear to be around any more.
Bought an unfinished project many years ago & even after "finishing" her, still always finding plenty to change/repair/modify - all part of the fun! First photo not how I got her, at least 3 years into the project - work & family time always compete & win!
Correct, 3.9 Rover with 5speed. Wheels are Centerline Autodrags, have always loved them & think they do suit the car - a reader of Retro Cars mag agreed too when a picture was featured in Readers Rides.
